Last week in the studio was very productive - I finished three paintings that I’ve been working on. That makes a total of five paintings that I’ve completed in the last few month; a bit slower than I’d like to be working, but there you have it. So I spent time with my photographer, Bob Hsiang, yesterday, getting the latest paintings photographed. It seems…final, like I am putting them to bed, to have them documented. Now they are up on my website, please take a look!
So, with the completion of those five paintings, I feel like this series might be at an end for me. It’s a strange feeling, especially since I am not sure what I’ll be doing next, yet. I need some time and space to think about new things, which I haven’t been able to carve out for myself. I’ve been busy with domestic matters and the business side of art, but stuff is percolating in my brain and in my notebook. I’m hoping to get enough spare time to be uninterrupted in my studio for awhile, but I know it’s something I’ll have to work hard to get. In the meantime, when I’m in the studio I’m working on more butterfly boxes, which I plan to sell at the Marin Art Festival in June.
I’ll be sending out an email soon about the upcoming shows I’m doing with the Artists Guild of San Francisco and otherwise.
