Upcoming shows

Monday, August 3rd, 2009

I’m showing my work at several outdoor venues this month. Busy! If you get a chance, come visit.

I did a show this last Saturday with the Artists Guild at the Music Concourse. The weather was a little gray but a lot of interesting people came by, several who had insightful things to say about my paintings. Overall a great day!

Saturday, August 8, I’ll be showing a few of my “Earthly Desires” paintings with the Guild at Maiden Lane, off Grant near Union Square. 9:30 - 5p. This is a new venue for me and I’m looking forward to it.

Sunday, August 16, Noon - 6pm is Indie Mart at Thee Parkside, 1600 17th Street. I’ll be showing my Butterfly Paintings and Boxes at Indie Mart on August 16. You can find me in the booth with Secession Art and Design. The Butterfly paintings are a great way to own an inexpensive piece of original art, and I’ll be selling them framed and unframed, along with a few of my beautiful hand-finished Butterfly boxes.

Saturday, August 22, is another Guild show, this time at Washington Square (Columbus @ Union). Last time I showed here it was an insanely hot day, and the park was covered with people. Very festive.

These shows all have a lot of beautiful work to look at along with mine, so it’s definitely worth coming by.

More new work

Monday, August 3rd, 2009

I have been seriously occupied by AGSF shows, studio time and summer time with my son, and I keep forgetting to blog. I do keep my Flickr stream pretty well updated with works in progress, though, so that’s a good place to look if you’re curious about what I am up to.
I am in the thick of preparing a new set of work for my October Open Studios show at Secession. These new pieces involve a lot of embroidery and crochet, so I am often working on that aspect (embroidering backgrounds and crocheting accents) even when I’m away from my studio. It sort of makes me feel like I’m working all the time, or at least have no excuse to not be working all the time. Not sure if that’s ideal, really, but it is nice to be able to be productive when I’m not able to be at my studio.

My hands are never idle, it seems. Which is good, as I’ve got a lot of work to do before the end of September.
