About San Francisco Artist Heather Robinson

On the teevee

Yesterday my studio mate Colleen Mauer and I got interviewed by a local TV show, “The View from the Bay,” about our art and upcoming Open Studios. It looks like the segment is airing today(!), on ABC-7 in San Francisco at 3pm. You can see it online at http://abclocal.go.com/kgo/story?section=view_from_the_bay/arts_entertainment&id=7051049.

It was a novel experience to me, and not nearly as nervous-making as I’d feared. The interview, Nick Smith, was seriously charming and very easy to talk to, as was the camera guy. They talk to a lot of people and I guess they’ve gotten pretty good at it. Nick asked me a few questions as I stood in front of the camera, then did the same with Colleen. They shot footage of our art and some of us working - I ended up finishing a piece I wasn’t really intending to finish that way, as it was all I had ready to work on for the camera. I couldn’t use my left hand as I wanted to, as it was blocking the view of the camera.

All in all, I am almost certain I did not come off looking like an idiot. It will be interesting to see how it looks in edited form - what they use, what they cut.
